Jean-Pierre
Bedarrides was born in Aix-en-Provence on 15 March 1954. Early on he developed
a strong interest for colors and drawings. He therefore chose a career as a
technical draftsman and ad man. He was first drawn by watercolor landscapes,
and his first exhibition took place in Aix-en-Provence in 1985.
In 1986, a publisher asked him to illustrate a work about Aix-en-Provence in watercolors.
Then, highly interested in low-key and still-life paintings, he turned to oil paintings.
Always concerned with details and the high quality of his work, he creates his supports himself (canvas fixed on wood panels with skin glue and plaster) and paints with thinned amber - a technique the Flemish painters had been using since the 13th Century.
After several trips to Morocco, elated by the beauty of its landscapes and its lights, he has in Aix-en-Provence, 2 exhibitions on this theme where he exposed still-life paintings, landscapes, and scenes of life.
Since his exhibitions were so successful Jean-Pierre Bedarrides has been devoting himself fully to painting after 1987.
Today known and recognized per his landscapes and still-life paintings, of which the brushwork remind us the figural masters, Jean-Pierre Bedarrides has been devoting himself to painting since 1987.
In 1995, he published a second book illustrating 20 years of painting.
Today known and recognized per his landscapes and still-life paintings, of which the brushwork remind us the figurative masters, he's surprising us with his new creation. He's starting a new era. In the bare environment he chose to set, his painting captivates us with the strong presence of the objectss he likes, caressed with a warm light giving life to the scene.
His work leads us to the dream and contemplation.
Jean-Pierre Bedarrides is a timeless artist, of international notoriety, register in the Benezit.
